Europe Part 2 : France

Kayanya kalau ga kelarin review travel rasanya ga lengkap.

Day 1: arrival at Charles de Gaulle airport in morning. I am thrilled because it has been a long while since my last trip to Europe. After a long consideration, i decided not to go by myself to paris but will wait for my friend to arrive from UK. My first  impression about Paris was, hmm.. not as great as I imagined because there're lots of grafitti on the wall along the train ride to Paris, and once we arrived at Gare du Nord which is one of the main train station in Paris (GND), it gave me a feeling that it is not a safe city.

We immediately check-in to Ibis near GND, we were so tired to even move our feet, but in the spirit of not wasting any time, we went to Champs Elysee and Arc de Triomphe during the cold weather and showering rain. Soon, it's proven that it is not a good idea, we can't even reached Champs Elysee. Since we were freezin cold, we decided to go back at 7 PM and we slept until the 9 AM the next day haha. There we have wasted a day, too tired!

Day 2: Yay, the sun is bright! it was the most productive day ever, we went on walking from 10 AM to 11 PM straight. Taking a river cruise from Pont Nueu, went to Musee d'orsay, Pantheon, Sorbonne, Eiffel, some park that I even has forgotten the name, but it was a very nice park where we took a nap for 2 hours from 6-8 PM, yes the sun set at 10 PM during May. So glad that we decided to go to many places during the bright sunny day because day 3 is all about heavy rain and freezin cold weather.

Day 3: We were awake to find that the weather is really gloomy and cloudy, I heard that the weather was 7 degree celcius. clearly we didn't prepare for 7C on late May. With all the pouring rain, we were all wet, cold and already went nuts because of the heavy rain and strong winds haha. So, we spent the day having 2.5 hours lunch, spent hundred euro buying new water proof coat and even throwing away my socks and buy brand new pairs of sock and I even changed my socks in front of Gallery Lafayette haha. Went to Eiffell again and Montparnasse hoping to see Paris from the top, but useless as we have zero visibility. In the afternoon, we went to Notre Dame and had a very nice Crepes. After 5 PM, we decided that it's useless for us staying outside in the cold and rain, hence we went back to hotel and sleep at 7 PM again haha. Lucky that we've seen most tourism spot on day 2.

Day 4:  We woke up early at 6 AM to catch early TGV to Avignon. Avignon is one of the big town (not city haha) in Provence, it is the center of many spots in Provence scenic area. But again, the weather was not good, it was raining the whole morning to afternoon, so we only strolled around some old bridge and church in Avignon. The bridge was built before Christ was born, crazy isn't it? we can even see some sculpture (or vandalism haha) where someone back in year 1400 or 1600 put their mark as in "Constantin was here 1667". My heart thrilled realizing that we are looking back the history! As the weather was so gloomy, I couldn't see the beauty of Avignon. But the next day when the sun is bright, it was a completely diffferent city.Love it!

Day 5: We went for a full day guided tour to 4-5 different places, I have forgotten the name as soon as I stepped out the bus haha. too difficult to remember. I only remember Gordes, Arles, while for the others including where Nostradamus lived, I forgot. The weather was really really nice and almost hot that day. With the sun shine soooo bright, all the yellowish orangish color of Provence popped up! Love it. Everything were so nice with all the scenery and nice steak :)

This is Gordes and Rousillon taken from my camera.

The tour ended aroung 6 PM, and we only managed to wash for a while prior departing to Geneve. So, that's it for France. Later (much later if I got time), I will share our trip to Switzerland!

:)
